Patches Now Available to Correct DVdraw Editor for Use with Windows 2000 SP4

The DataViews software development team have found and corrected a problem with DVdraw under Windows 2000 Service Pack 4. Without the patch the only remedy is to uninstall the service pack. This problem affects only developers and DVdraw runtime users of DataViews. The problem is a crash when choosing the color tab of the object properties page in DVdraw and was discovered during investigation of SP4 compatibility in our new release, 2.5, but the same problem has also been reported by customers running earlier releases.

The operating system and service pack supported by each release of DataViews is indicated in the release notes, however the product usually runs correctly under minor upgrades or downgrades from the supported system. Customers using DataViews 2.3 may download a zip file, unzip and copy the files into the DataViews installation hierarchy (after backing up the current files), and re-register these files using this script. This patch contains all the patches for 2.3 to date.

Customers using DataViews 2.5 should contact their sales representative to obtain an entirely new CD. Customers with current maintenance contracts, who are using DataViews 2.2 or earlier, are strongly recommended to upgrade to 2.5. Only 2.3 has a downloadable patch.
