White Paper Abstract
The term "Six Sigma" means the occurrence of finding a defect is 3.4 defects per million opportunities. GE's Six Sigma Quality program involves the training of employees in the use of statistical tools to help them understand the underlying quality of the processes for which they are responsible. The Six Sigma toolkit also helps GE employees understand the importance of control plans as the means to lock in changes once improvements are realized. GE has applied Six Sigma tools to more than manufacturing and distribution, expanding successfully into finance, information technology, human resources and all other areas of our business.
